When my husband and I embarked on renovating our master bathroom, I debated whether hiring an interior designer was worth the substantial investment. We already had a strong vision, and I initially felt the money could be better spent on higher-end materials. But my husband wanted the luxury of working with a professional designer, and I eventually embraced the idea, hoping it would give us confidence in our decisions and elevate our vision beyond what we could accomplish ourselves.

Looking back, choosing IDF and working with Allison was one of the best decisions we made!

We absolutely love the final result! While we definitely exceeded our original budget, we learned that truly transforming a space rather than simply refreshing it requires flexibility. Prioritizing quality over rigidly adhering to a budget made the creative journey much more enjoyable.

We came into the project with strong ideas, but the magic was in the details. Allison had us at hello with her gorgeous tile, rug and sconces selections! The wallpaper, gold fixtures, colored cabinetry, and architectural arches brought character and sophistication we never could have envisioned on our own. Without her encouragement, many of these beautiful elements would never have made it into our home.

Perhaps the biggest surprise was Allison's suggestion to extend the renovation into our master closet, a space we hadn't planned to touch. She appealed to my value for organization and helped me recognize how much untapped potential existed to maximize the space. The result was extraordinary! The beauty now flows seamlessly from a light update in the master bed room to bathroom and closet. I jokingly call it a facelift that includes the neck, too — a complete, cohesive transformation! One friend even said our closet looks like a museum!

Beyond her design talent, Allison was an invaluable partner in decision-making and quite possibly saved our marriage from renovation-induced disagreements! Whenever my husband and I were at odds, we trusted her professional eye to help us find the right balance. She listened, challenged our thinking when appropriate, and helped us explore alternatives rather than settle for decisions we might later regret.

Of course, no major renovation is without hiccups. Even during our final walkthrough, Allison caught an issue everyone else had overlooked and helped find a creative, cost-conscious resolution. That level of attention and accountability meant a great deal to us.

One of my favorite memories was sitting on our newly renovated bathroom floor with Allison, sipping Bellinis and celebrating the beautiful space we had created together. It was such a personal, joyful moment that perfectly captured our experience.

And thankfully, I managed not to become a "renovation-zilla," and Allison never needed to divorce me as her client!

When investing in a luxury design service, I expect more than a beautiful finished space. I want creativity, trust, thoughtful problem-solving, and a genuine partnership that makes the journey as memorable as the destination.

Allison and IDF delivered exactly that. We didn't just get a stunning bathroom and closet — we gained an experience and memories we'll cherish for years.

We started with a blank slate where we knew we wanted the bathroom gutted, even though our home was new construction only a decade old. The shower was a coffin, the marble dark and bleak, and everything else simply builder spec. We chose the original materials as a brand new Toll Brothers home, but we never felt comfortable or connected to the design.

We asked Allison to design a space that was open and had specific design elements. Wood beams, hardwood floors to replace the tile and master closet carpet, and most importantly removing most of the wall that enclosed the master shower.

Allison gave us everything we wanted and more. The master closet became hardwood floors with custom shelving, the master bath with refinished vanities, a cast-iron tub, custom lighting, amazing tile in the wet areas, and a pony wall to open up the shower.

We added a steam shower to create a Napa Valley zen feel with custom chandeliers and side sconce lighting by the vanity mirrors.

The design process was interactive with construction documents to ensure the GC knew exactly what to install and where. I am very pleased with the level of detail and customer focus throughout the entire project.

We found IDF online and liked what we saw on their web site. Their interior design work was so tasteful and made such great use of color; it really appealed to us! We contacted them and soon had an initial phone call with the founder and CEO, Kassin Adelman. Soon after, everything started unfolding nicely. We contacted them in June last year and the project was 98% finished just before Thanksgiving.

Blaire was assigned our project and we had the best time working with her. We wanted work done on the whole interior, except the kitchen and bathrooms. She asked us a lot of questions to get to know us and she and another staff member (Callie) took measurements (tons of measurements) to be used for CAD drawings. We had a few Zoom meetings where Blaire shared initial and then more developed designs with us. We received documents to approve purchases (that they handled). We used their recommended contractor (R5, Emerson Duque) for painting and lighting upgrades, fireplace remodel, new closet doors, etc. The contractor and his team were the best we've ever worked with.

Blaire's designs were amazing. So beautiful and fun and unique to us. We are big fans of music and cycling and color and art. Blaire worked these themes into our home so beautifully! Her design and use of our art and photos was spectacular. We have to mention her emails- they were wonderful. So complete and full of ideas and options and explanations. And always kind and positive (and funny!).

We went into the project a little unclear as to how much we would need to spend, and also unclear as to the scope of our project. We had an initial budget in mind but wound up going over. However, what we got was so worth it. We have no qualms whatsoever about increasing our budget to get such nice work done. Lara in purchasing was also amazing to work with. Just like Blaire- always helpful and cheerful and responsive.
