With the help of McGriff Architects, IDF Studio transformed this single-story San Francisco home into the envy of the block. What was once a dark 1960’s fixer-upper has been completely rebooted as a two-story modern abode. The interiors were thoroughly rearranged, introducing a light-filled kitchen, an inviting dining area, and a cozy family room with beautiful built-in storage. The vibe is decidedly boho and beachy, making this family of four feel like they’re on perpetual holiday.
This project was tile bliss – from the master bath’s handmade floor tile from Cement Tile Shop to the kitchen’s subtle glazed tile backsplash from local maker Heath Ceramics. We also loved using liberal amounts of soapstone; you’ll find it in the kitchen, powder room and dining room, lending an air of easy living. Shiplap accent walls complement the look.
